Any recommendations where to bunker diesel in North Sardegna? In Arbatrax they asked for Euro 1.52 per litre.

I filled up two weeks ago at Portico at €1.48 per liter. I don't know where the fuel dock is located on Olbia, I couldn't find it last season.

Hi Sully,
Marina Porto di Roma is in fact in Ostia. It is gigantic in dimensions, but the jettys are well protected. It is quite a ride to get to Rome from Ostia. There is probably a new marina north of the river mouth, it was under construction 2 years ago.

Sindbad, For fuel in north sardinia cross over to Corsica, less taxes on fuel in France. Calvi was €1,39; Cargese €1,33. I don't know for Bonifacio. For really big quantities do not fill up at the marina station. Call a bulk fuel delivery service they come to deliver at the boat and are a lot cheaper. Win-Win situation.

This evening we dropped the hook in Porto Brandinchi. Looking forward to a night of good and deep sleep. The last 3 nights have been uncomfortable at the rolly anchorage in Porto Frailis

Sailing back to Ponza today under full sails, close reachin' at 7-8 knots. What a relaxing day. The radar is going back on duty after not seeing a fellow who just passed me port to port, staysail was in the way and I got him mixed up with another sailboat on starboard. They just sneak up on ya, especially when they don't broadcast AIS. Geez, I sail on time for one hour without radar.

The new mainsail is awesome. Next year, a new yankee will be high up on the wish list.

Sully and family enjoying Rome today, it was nice to see them after many miles and 10 months.

The view from the anchorage to Isola Tavolara. From dawn to dusk dinghies are going back and forth across the bay with the occasional macho man speeding in full throttle through the anchorage.
Landing the dinghy at the pier is not a problem, at least nobody chased us away yesterday. Many restaurants and a supermarket in the village.

We are heading for Rome in the next few days and will spend there a couple of days. Any moorings in that area that you can recommand?

I will answer my own question. Just found the ideal mooring in the Rome area.
It is behind a massive dike build as the first phase of a new marina.
In my 2012 edition of the Rod Heikel Italian mooring guide it is mentioned as "under construction".
I guess this was before the Italian euro crisis and european central bank bailout. No more funding.
In my opinion this is going to last another couple of years.
In the attached iNavX screencopy you can see that the dike is marked as existing.
When I was there today at noon, there were 2 sailboats and a couple of smaller motor boats at anchor, there were acres of space left, there is place for at least a hundred boats.
LL position is 41°44.931N 12°13.500E.

We head from Capri over to the Amalfi coast in the moring then down to Stromboli to arrive sometime Monday for a couple of days. Pam is back onboard along with Charlie from CF.

Sourh Capri is beautiful tonight. Crowded weekend days, but nearly everyone leaves late in the day. Now we're just left here surrounded by super and mega yachts.
