Hello,
This year I`m sailing through Cyclades and I`m trying to prepare good route. It would be greate if someone send some worth-seeing places, islands. Maybe some POI (Points Od Interest) for GPS? We have 14 days with start and finish in Kalamaki - Athens. Would be greatefull for any help

Not certain how much sailing you want and how much time in any one place - but you've lot's of nice islands to choose from plus the oft forgotton mainland.
IMHO Milos and Ios are nicest - and Ios nice and safe to leave your yacht and go visit Santorini by day ferry. But use google earth and go look at each one. The way Google Earth is now getting populated with pictures, it is the best way to check out possible locations. We did cover some of the cyclades this past summer - so if you want comments on those and some added pictures of anchorages etc go back in our blog to early June - Swagmans Sailing Blog Enjoy JOHN

Agreed...Google Earth plus the pictures are an amazingly good way to get a feel for a place. I have already spent hours and hours on Google Earth looking at places that I one day want to cruise to.

If you want to know about nice places to visit on the various islands of the Cyclades, go to my web site. I cover Greek Cruising in detail; go the the S Aegean section. You can jump straight to it from the index on the entry page of the site.

Stick to Poros, Aegina, Hydra and maybe Spetzes.
The chance of running into the Meltemi winds in the cyclades is more than you are looking for, believe me. It is the nicest area anyway. Maybe hop over to Kythnos or Kea, but thats it. For two weeks thats probably already more than you can safely handle. Goood Luck! Rene SY Alondra |
