The very good news is that we can Check OUT as well as CHECK IN at Karpaz Gate Marina- TRNC Nth Cyprus.

Great can we get fuel there & if so what is it cost now??

The fuel point is up and running. Unfortunately, they only supply EuroDiesel there. Normal diesel has to be jerry canned in from the local fuel stations.

As for duty free fuel, there is conflicting stories. We were told minimum of 500 litres, someone else was told minimum of 1000 litres and a. n. other was told 1500 litres. What is confirmed is that KGM do not have a duty free license and that K-Pet the TRNC fuel company have to deliver in a tanker hence the minimum quantities. Furthermore, it would appear that KGM will charge 70 Euro admin fee for arranging the fuel.

So far no one has taken fuel from either the fuel point or duty free. Although a large MOBO is hoping to get some duty free this week.

might be worth getting a few boats together for a tanker delivery,it would also be in the interests of the marina if the word got out that cheap fuel is available in the eastern med in the trc

The problem you have got there is that you must leave TRNC within 1 hour of taking on fuel. now we can (with assistance of Jerry cans and completely empty fuel tanks) take 600 litres, so based on min delivery of 1500 litres and everyone having empty tanks we need another 2 boats to leave the marina on the same day as us.

Now according to Delta Marina in Girne (50 miles away) minimum delivery 500 litres and 20 euro admin. Guess where we will refuel and yes we are completely empty.

The large MOBO took on over 3000 litres this afternoon and will be departing the early hours of tomorrow. At the quoted duty free price against the local fuel station price thats a saving of 1.2TL x 3000+ = over 3600TL. Mind you it would take me over 10 years to use that much fuel.
