Northern Italy and the Po River

Hi there,
Have you had any experience navigating the Po River in northern Italy? My husband and I are trying to figure out whether or not it's possible to get our sailing catamaran from the Adriatic via the Po River and the Ticino River, to then get the boat into Lake Maggiore... We're finding it very difficult to gather the necessary information to learn if it's even possible... Any help or advice will be appreciated.

Although I can't personally help you with the information you need, you may want to post your question on the Seven Seas Cruising Association bulletin board at They have cruisers all over the world and there will likely be someone with first hand experience in the area you are interested in.

This is from

In english:
You can go up the Po and the Mincio until a barrage in Mantua.
