Nokia N8 and Navionics UK and Holand blocked

Have this great chart app on my N8 but will not open since early last season.
The program still opens momentarily and is then blocked from accessing the charts.
It now appears to require an internet approval that was not required before this failure as it worked initially off line and off shore with only a GPS signal.
I contacted Navionics who offered a refund but no explaination. I prefer to continue useing the app.
It seems to me that a blocking program has been added or activated.
I,v looked but can,t find it.
Has anyone managed a work around.
Centaur.

Re: Nokia N8 and Navionics UK and Holand blocked

Had exactly the same problem with my Navionics Mediterranean on my N8. After I had upgraded to Nokia Belle I eventually googled the problem and found on a Nokia forum a workround which I can only vaguely remember as deleting some chart? files on the phone and then when you open the app it reloads the files and works fine for last 6 months. It does keep showing messages about being not connected but you just ignore them. Nokia store and Navionics do not currently list the Navionics app for Nokia.
If I find the workround again I will post it

Re: Nokia N8 and Navionics UK and Holand blocked

I am pretty sure this is what I did, I quote from the Nokia forum

I've had fine support from Navionics regarding this problem.
They suggested the following:
1. Delete folder "charts" in application folder.
( my application folder is called "navskagerragkkattegat"
2. Restart application
3. After pressing the "I agree" button, you will see a progress bar downloading new charts.
( the download will take some time because of the filesize. For me about 1 hour !)
After successfully download (which is free of charge), the application works fine.

I did this a few months ago, so even though Nokia store and Navionics do not offer Navionics for Nokia, the charts downloaded
Its best to do this with the phone on WiFi or connected to a PC running Nokia Suite because of the size of chart files
