new Marina Istanbul

Has anyone personally visited the site of the new Marina Istanbul and can report progress of the construction? It supposedly is under construction and scheduled to open Aug/Sept 2012.

Hello,I cannot answer your question, but I am looking for a good place to moor in Istanbul. We've never been to the Med before and would love some communications with someone currently there. Our boat is in England and we will be off sometime in July. Cindy

Someone sent me recent photos of the construction of Marina Istanbul. Based on those photos it appears extremely unlikely that this marina will be ready for occupancy by Sept 2012. No way we would go against wind and current all that distance with no assurance that the marina would be far enough along in completion to allow berthing for next winter.

Marina Istanbul is still under construction but we have West Istanbul Marina opened almost a year ago. Our company is one of the subcontracters.
