Italian
Marinas certainly do not charge the same; I can not speak for the Western shore mainland, but -as already mentioned- my German buddies who sail the area say that prices appear to become more expensive Southwards.
I can speak about
Sicily from own experience: The prices charged and the
service offered are in now justifyable ratio. While
Sicily itself is a wonderful area with great landscape, beautiful towns, tons of
history and great
food and wine, the maritime infrastructure is poor, substandard not-working facilities, oftentimes not well maintained, however prices are much higher than in
Croatia.
The other Italian region that I know personally is the Northeastern lagoons, Venice, Lignano, Grado. Here are well run professional Marinas, lots of them, most are huge, almost ghetto-like compounds. Prices here if memory serves were in line with Croatian prices but the sailing region itself is boring aside from the certain panache that comes with a visit to Venice under own
keel.
Sorry that I could not find more favorable info.
