Marina in Italy ?

Hello, happy new year to all....

I need, in abril, move my boat from Rosignano Marina, near Livorno, (very expensive) to another: anybody know a good and economic marina?

thank you for your information.....

Sorry...

Eolo,

Spoke with my German sailor-friends. Consensus is that the Marinas on Italy's West-coast are all expensive and actually seem to become more expensive going South. There was no real recommendation, sorry.

Italian Marinas certainly do not charge the same; I can not speak for the Western shore mainland, but -as already mentioned- my German buddies who sail the area say that prices appear to become more expensive Southwards.

I can speak about Sicily from own experience: The prices charged and the service offered are in now justifyable ratio. While Sicily itself is a wonderful area with great landscape, beautiful towns, tons of history and great food and wine, the maritime infrastructure is poor, substandard not-working facilities, oftentimes not well maintained, however prices are much higher than in Croatia.

The other Italian region that I know personally is the Northeastern lagoons, Venice, Lignano, Grado. Here are well run professional Marinas, lots of them, most are huge, almost ghetto-like compounds. Prices here if memory serves were in line with Croatian prices but the sailing region itself is boring aside from the certain panache that comes with a visit to Venice under own keel.

Sorry that I could not find more favorable info.

Consider Marina de Grosetto?

I appriecate it's outside your ideal area but is west Italian coast.

We've a villa close by and when visiting the new facility 24 month ago (just after it opened) it had then a restricted entry (2 metres and being dredged daily) I recall it as good value.
Cannot relay quoted rental costs - but to purchase a 12 metre space we were quoted 55,000 Euro for a 30 year lease.

The shoreside facilities were not fully complete but it looked tidy / modern / safe. Hope this helps.

Cheers

JOHN
