Looking for a new Med marina

We currently have a boat on the hard at Yacht Marine Marmaris Turkey.

A 39 Ft CC Moody. We are happy with the facilities, prices etc and have used them for many years.
However there is a growing apprehension among the crew that perhaps we should move to Greece at the end of the forthcoming season
I am after any (up to date) suggestions within the Aegean islands even Crete or Rhodos
We need good safe hardstand on frames not props if possible.
Reasonable charges for in water berth and winter hardstand
No charge for power and water on hardstand.
Able to work myself on boat on hardstand
Able to sleep on board if working on boat on the hardstand. At no charge.
Able to bring in outside labour with very minimal commission to marina
Decent facilities at the marina ie Clean showers and toilets, restaurants (oh some of the crew need a pool)
Close to town with good public transport.
Good in-yard tradesmen at reasonable prices. inc carpenter, engineer ,welders, radio and refrigeration techo's riggers etc.
All backed up by similar personnel in nearest town.
am I asking too much ?
Any suggestions will be welcome. We launch in May and so have plenty of time to look around.

Re: Looking for a new Med marina

As Palarran said, that's too much..

You may find some or most of the features but not all..For instance in our marina we meet all of yr requests but no pool and not possible to work on yr boat because of new safety regulations. (obviously you can handle simple DIY's but no antifouling, mechanical work or whatsover..)

Regarding Greece, there are many threads on the forum and many cruisisers who have been or still there.

Cheers

Re: Looking for a new Med marina

Hi, Thanks for the prompt reply. By the location in your tag, you are at Marmaris. I take it not at yacht marine.
Don't get me wrong, I love Turkey, the people and feel safe there. We do however hear worrying items in the news down here in Australia. It is some of my friends that are reluctant to travel there. Hence the need to look around in Greece Les

Les, If your looking for unfounded fear and paranoia, you should hang out here in the States. I told Yeloya last year that it's hard to get "friends" to come visit, Turkey, Greece, pretty much anywhere that doesn't speak English. But I feel as safe there as at home so no worries IMO. It's a problem that unfortunately can only be solved by getting new friends.

That' absolutely true. I responded in another thread, Caribbean had last year 90 crime events reported of which 19 are serious. (wounds by arm, rape, sexual assaults and deads)
This was never the case in Turkey but the perception is somehow different.

As Palarran said, it's hard to get friends here. We have in our marina an italian guy (83 years old and very fit) since 3 years with his Outremer 51 and keeps on inviting people for free on his boat. Only a few of them came , the rest refused stating that they were afraid.
"The perception is the king, the facts don't count.."
Anyway, if you are still around, send me a PM and feel free to stop by on yr way in Albatros marina for a beer or two..

Cheers

Did Yacht Marine suit with all your list of expectations?

Re: Looking for a new Med marina

G'Day, Yes to your question. Yacht marine is very good. The facilities are really 1st class. Some of the trade work shops are a bit over the top, price wise. I have used an out side agent to organise a couple of major jobs. Even with a small commission to the marina. I was still way ahead cost wise and craftsmenship.
I quick bus trip into Marmaris and you are presented with a multitude of competative marine suppliers.
Then if you are really stuck a quick trip to an area called the Senii (probably wrong spelling) and there is a mass of small workshops who seem to be able to fix or supply anything at the drop of a hat and for a few Lire. It is a wonderful experience.
I like Turkey but try and get friends to come here ? There in lays the problem. Les
