Long term berthing in Sicily

I am looking for an annual berth in Sicily. Looks like the best one seems to be Marina di Cala del Sole. Does anyone have any experience of this marina or have any alternative suggestions?

Not my direct experience, but the recent views of many of my web site contributors can be seen on http://www.jimbsail.info/mediterranean/west-med/sicily-malta-s-italy.

Cala del Sole marina is usually referred to by the name of its nearby town - Licata. It is, at present, good value while it offers good rates to attract business. An alternative is nearby Ragusa, popular with winter live-aboards, and which is said to have less marine growth for boats kept in the water.

Many thanks. The rate is very good - around 1500 euro cheaper than Gouvia (where we are now). I am just interested to see if anyone is in there now and what their experience has been.

If you're a member of The Cruising Association, quite a few of their members are wintering there in both harbours, so you'd get a range of opinions through their "Mednet" email net and forum. As well as some discounts . . . which often repay membership fees!
