I'm still trying to Sail to England

I've been wanting to go back to the UK ever since I left 4 years ago. I bought a boat, lived aboard it, fixed it up, sold it, bought another boat, and am currently in the process of getting her ready to cross to England. I've been sailing for about 9-10 years now, I've done plenty of solo, and overnight trips, but the longest cruise I've done to date is about 150 miles. It was a nice experience, but just a small drop in the bucket compared to what I'd be up against crossing the ocean. I'm not too daunted by the physical aspect of it, just the financial really. I'm trying to raise funds any way I can because working my butt off at my job just isn't cutting it.

I found this site, and now I just need advice on what the most essential things to bring are, and any help in funding would be outstanding. I know that the amount I'm trying to raise won't be enough for the whole journey, but it will definitely make the trip possible with the money I have saved up.

Any ideas on where else to go from here?

Re: I'm still trying to Sail to England

Yup, that's the boat. She's not the biggest one out there, but has all of the characteristics I was looking for. (Full keel, Cutter Rig, Transom hung rudder) I'm planning on heading out through the Great Lakes chain and up the St. Lawrence seaway. (I was actually just about to check the bridge clearances along the way to see if I'll need to drop the mast. The guy I bought her from sailed up from the Bahamas and down through that way and he said he had to)
