Hauling Out in Greece or Turkey

I need to haul out our boat in Greece or Turkey and am looking for a *reasonably" priced marina to do it. We hit something underwater and I've shattered our P bracket that holds our prop shaft in place.

I figure I can sail just about anywhere in Greece or Turkey (currently located in Mykonos, Greece) but I'd like to make it in one shot as I can no longer use the port engine.

We are a catamaran (Lagoon 55) whose dimensions are:
Length: 55ft
Beam: 30ft
Draft: 4ft
Weight: 28,000 lbs

So we can't go just anywhere.

Any advice is much appreciated. I just e-mailed some marinas in Marmaris, Goecek & Bodrum.

Thanks,

James.

Have you considered Leros, where there are two marinas/yards where you could haul out? See the World Cruising Wiki (Leros - a Cruising Guide on the World Cruising and Sailing Wiki) for contact details. Leros would be an easy day's sailing, probably on a beam reach, for you from Mykonos.

Re: my earlier posting, if you check the Evros Leros Marina page on the Wiki you'll see a photo I took of a catamaran being lifted out in their new travel lift, which can take up to 160 tonnes.

Glad to be of help, James. If you do wind up spending some time in Leros, treat yourself to a meal at Dimitris O Karaflas (Dimitri the Bald) taverna on the headland above the anchorage at Vromolithos. Apart from the stunning views, he dishes up some of the best food we've had in Greece.
