Greece - Southern Peloponese Summer Storge

We are looking for at month affordable storage in southern Peloponnes' for our 50 foot sailing yacht. We need to go home to Denmark as we have a grandchild coming.

Is there anyone that know of a safe habor where you can leave your yacht unattended for 30days or a place where we can go on the hard?

Thanks and kind regards
Lasse

Lot's of places were you can do that. A good option would be kalamata marina, another one Pilos and a cheaper one Aktion, the old Spartan port. There are more options.

Pylos "marina" - a concrete skeleton with no formal facilities, and no charge. Afloat alongside, or end on to a quay if there's a vacant mooring. Nick's diving shop on road above marina helpful, usually able to keep an eye on the boat for a reasonable fee. Crane to leave ashore is possible if you can track down the crane operator! Lovely small town, 2,000 population, buses to Kalamata and Athens.

Kalamata full service marina - ashore or afloat. Some surge in southerlies, so best on quays A-D if you're leaving the boat awhile. Busy agricultural support town, wide engineering facilites, 50,000 population. Chandler run by reliable marine engineer (Yanni Varkas).

Connections. Buses from both locations to Athens airport (4:30 - 5:00 hr) one easy change in Athens). Seasonal local airport Kalamata (Apr - Oct) with flights to several N Europe cities 3 days a week.

Lots more detail on the W Peloponnese and S Peloponnese pages of my web site (google "jimbsail" !)

I'd just take the 24 hours needed to get to Messolonghi Marina. Or 36 hours to Preveza. Otherwise your going to be worrying about things that don't need to be worried about.

We were in Kalamata last summer. Nice marina. I'd be happy to leave my 49 footer afloat there. It is a popular place so I'd book ahead nice and early.
Yani is an engineer who's son runs the chandlery. Always around. While you are there make sure you hire a car and drive to see Mystras. Not far to the airport

I suppose Aktio is not in Peloponnese. And, too, it is not an old Spartan port.
Possibly are you confusing with Yitheon? Not a place to leave the boat!

The only two places in S.Peloponnese where you can leave the boat, obviously with different costs, are Pylos and kalamata marina.
As an alternative, in Argolidi, Koilada basimakoupoulo or porto Heli
IMHO
