Dave,

Welcome! So how new are you? Where you from? Just what is it you want to do? We like to help but we need you to write a little bit more.

hello thankyou for your reply. We are thinking of selling our house in england buying a motor sailor to travel the med our children have flown the nest so we are looking for an adventure. I have had some sailing experience but would need to brush up with some courses . We will have a small amount of money to start with but would be thinking of working as we travel [ builder and hairdresser] We are keen to get going but was wondering if any other sailors had experiences starting from scratch ' as they say. Would be interested in your advice. thankyou Dave

welcome dave
I'm just starting out as well. Much like you i have only a little experience and am now stumbling through the process of survey and purchase. I say just go for it and if you trip along the way remember to tuck and roll. Thats the way i'm going about it. I'll let you know how it works out for me

Dave,
Welcome! There are board members who are cruising the med. So I am sure you will hook up with someone knowledgeable. May your dream come true.

Dave,
Go for it! Take some RYA courses. 3 years ago we knew nothing...we bought a sailboat in the Netherlands and learned to sail. We are now in the Med (Spain) and it's interesting the number of couples we have met who also knew nothing about sailing and are now cruising the Med.
It's a great life!
Jim
