Cruising in Northern Europe

I am not sure if this is the right place to post, I may just be having trouble using the search tool...

I am looking for accounts or sail blogs of people cruising to Northern Europe from US East Coast and points of interest there. Everything I come across seems to be Caribbean or Med or the trade wind circumnavigations.

I am envisioning traveling North with the Gulf Stream, maybe hitting Iceland, the British Isles, and Scandinavia, then perhaps the Rhine-Main-Danube canals from North Sea to Black Sea (then the traditional Med trip and trade wind crossing back to the Carribean and the US East Coast).

Any pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I think the Danube thing is being done by Jack van Ommen. Check out his cometosea.us.

I would have a chat on YBW.com (Main UK boat Magazines) - the folk nearer your destination will know far more. And I'd pack a jumper and also don't be misled by any photos you see of folk in the North East of England walking around bare chested in January - it ain't because it's so hot. It's because they be mental and that's just the women on a Saturday night

"Geordie" comes from the ancient Greek for "nutters". but (mostly) freindly with it. unless drinking.............

Re: Cruising in Northern Europe

Living in Sweden and mainly cruising the Scandinavian water's, I might be able to give you some advise of where to go, depending on what you want and what time you are planning to spend there.
I sailed home my catamaran from Florida to Sweden in summer of 2010, so I have done that trip also.
Let me know your thoughts and I can try to give you some hints.
