Checking out of TURKEY

We checked into TURKEY Free at Tasucu. When we come to check out we would also like to be able to do it FREE. We do not want to use an agent.

Anyone know where we can check out ourselfs.

Re: Checking out of TURKEY

you can check in or out yourself at any turkish port.........

just start with the port captain who will stamp or issue your transit log, then marine police, then the customs ,then port health, who will give you chits to pay at the treasurer, and issue a clearance.

once you have got your transit log stamped by all these people you go to the immigration and get your exit stamp........ takes a few hours as immigration is not allways in the same place as port captain.

Hi Dave,

We are in FINIKE at the moment and went to the Harbour Master to enquire. His comment as backed up by port police - here in Fineke you MUST use an agent NO CHOICE!!

Re: Checking out of TURKEY

last time i was in finike the marina(setur) did all the paperwork free of charge(except for cost of transit log and visas).

in the distant past in finike you could check in/out your self, but this envolved a fair walk to the harbour office on the other side of town.

my guess is this is a form of yachty tax to either the marina or someones brother in law!
you could try further down the coast at alanya.

Thanks for all the replies so far- keep them coming please.

We are heading ever so slowly north and enjoying the cruising. We only asked to see if there was somewhere to check out without having to use an agent.

We will probably check out around the Marmaris/Kas area, so we shall see.

Re: Checking out of TURKEY

fetihye used to be quite easy to check out of as all the port officials were more or less in the same building.

my guess about finnike is that since it is no longer a commercial port, and Setur now run things there, and have built nice new facilities for the port people in the marina, you have to pay their surchage............

You beat me to it about fetihye. Sounds like a scam to me.

Mind you it's been a while , reading noonsite it's seems it's now required everywhere ...hmmm another killing the golden goose.
