Windy Weather for England = Cat 1 Strength

The first named storm of the Autumn has just arrived over England and headed for The Netherlands tomorrow. Forecast is for 75mph winds

Could be a rough winter.

Looks nasty. Not like those easy tropical systems. This one has quite some range.

Sailing season in the North is so disgracefully short. What a shame.

Hope you are OK and tied up / fendered up, sipping tea and listening to the news.

Cheers,
barnakiel

The new rubber snubbers for the mooring ropes are awaiting collection in the local post office, was going to be a job for this weekend

However, she is in one of the most sheltered spots in the harbour so ought be be okay, but its very early in the season and a few folk are going to be caught out and not just boats.

I will be sailing out into the Irish Sea in Friday, hoping for some moderate NW winds.

Not a hurricane though, just a deep low pressure system. But it did make the windows rattle a bit last night in Plymouth!

I love the way you guys use English. Should one assume you mean those delightful meat pastries versus the "uniform" worn by some dancers.

Not that there is anything wrong with guys who wear them.

This doesn't count as a hurricane. Its not in the right continent.

I believe there were over 17 hurricane force storms in the north Pacific last year. I don't know how many in the north Atlantic but quite a few I imagine.

Not much happened on the East Coast. Rattled my bedroom blinds a bit.
