So, the General Election in the UK has returned a BREXIT Government, which means the UK will leave the EU on 31st January 2020. Brits will become 'third Country' when visiting Europe. We will only be able to spend 90 in any 1800 days in Schengen waters. For the record, I voted to stay in the EU and gutted that we will now be out of it.

For those that it is relevant to - what plans do you have? How will you handle it all?

i guess we will just have to spend the winters in the caribbean , early summer and fall for getting there and back

Bit of a bummer to lose the passport, but you never know what deals will be arranged with individual countries.....

my home port of falmouth does not even have a customs and immigration,officer/office,nearest is 90 miles away in plymouth
similar situation in many european ports so how they are even going to deal with the tens of thousands of cross channel yacht traffic checking in and out is beyond me.

We wish our friends from the island all the best after BREXIT, hopefully a clean one with no strings attached. You loose the EU, but win the world and independency, hopefully less stupid regulations and financial transfers and you can kick your politicians out when they pass laws against your interest, that does not work in the EU any more.

Don't worry about the sailing in the EU waters, we have more to loose when you go, you will be always welcome, and there will be solutions for free movement.

Now you are back in the driver seat, take care!

UK VAT/duty paid boats,returning to europe will soon be eligible to pay import duty again on their value in europe.
UK boats normally resident in the EU will, if they return to the uk become liable for uk import duty

private health insurance will also be needed for uk citizens in europe,which will be extortionate for anybody with pre-existing conditions...diabetes,epilepsey,special needs etc.
fines and deportation for anybody deemed working illegally,or overstaying.

just about every marine business in the uk producing a product,receives EU
funding of some sort currently,as do many of the underfunded regions in the uk.

That 'Funding' as you call it is just a small percentage of the so called Membership Fee..
£17 Billion for 2019, less the £4Billion rebate won by Maggie Thatcher, so it cost us £13 Billion this year for what..???
This Funding is just like a Drug Dealer giving his Pusher back a few quid after collecting the take..

It will be interesting to see the import duties on all the French built and all of European built boats. And last I heard there is still that Irish backstop issue. Brexit still has issues to work out.

UK was a n empire with colonies, eventually they fight and got independent even it was better to stay with the empire for some, independency allow them own progress, look at canada, australia, india and many others. UK become a colony of the EU for some decades and now is struggling to free from the chains.

Stop whining and start celebrating.

Taxes and regulation will be home made in the future and you can decide by elections on them freely.

good news is phill will now be able to afford a bottle of wine to go with his turkey now the pound has gained some of it value........in other boris news!

"We are open for business now, and we will soon be accepting serious cash offers for the sale of a small whiskey producing province to the north and on some good farmland with sea views to the west.accessed by a short ferry ride.cash buyers only.also on sale is an ailing health service,ideal for asset stripping.....sadly our ports ,railways,airports,post offices gas industry and water distribution network will not be for sale"(,as these were sold off by previous conservative regimes.........)
