If the meltemi doesn't stop towards the sunset (which usually is the case) don't ever try to enter Bozukkale but go until Çiftlik some 10-15 nm

or you can
head straight to bozburun from knidos. It will be longer sailing the next day to ciftlik, but you will have
water and electricity at the town harbour. There you can also do some market
shopping in the morning, not so much swimming though. Straight to Ciftlik would also mean quiet a long leg from knidos, and I wouldnt suggest entering an anchorage at night if you dont know the waters. (although the lovely
hotel (with the loud disco on the hills) at ciftlik could be used as lighthouse too

So everyone who recommend Bozukkale , including some pilote books, are now warned

well yeloya is right about the fact that when it blows it can be tough in bozukkale, but spending also about over 30 Summers sailing around datca and marmaris, the chances of such winds occurring during the first week of july is quite low. The suggestion was merely due to distance to make good in a week from bodrum to göcek.
Ah and while we are at giving warnings, one might argue, cruisers new to the area should also avoid
anchoring at Dalyan, since its hardly protected against swell from south. Instead make a stop at ekincik which is well protected.
