barry furlong

We are planning a journey in a 37ft coastal cruiser across Europe to the Med. Would appreciate some ideas of the best way to go. Time is not an issue, the most scenic, safe routes are our priority.

If you're interested in history, check for the depths of the canals vs. your draft with the mast off, it will be beautiful in places, and overland as suggested. Some of the canals even run in bridges over rivers, quite a trip to be way up there floating, looking down at the land.

The major countries have official books and maps of their canal systems including rules and fees. That would also mean knowing the language of that country.
