Almerimar Marina - Southern Spain

We would like to spend the winter in the Almerimar marina. They do not take reservations but operate on a first come basis. Does anyone have experience to know if we arrive late Spetember if there will be space available?

Probably they will, since the administrative organization leaves 25% of moorings for transit vessels. If you want, I can find out more precisely by talking to them.

Thank you very much. If you can talk with them that would be great. We just want to make sure if we arrive late September that we will be able to find space.

Since it is our first choice we would be happy to make a deposit if necessary.

Hi Jim,

I've been in touch with the guys at Almerimar. They are well overbooked.

For end of September, they do not have any available moorings from 40 to 49 footers. They have larger moorings, for 54 footers. Below 40 feet (40 feet included I believe), they might have some availability.

If your boat is in that size (40 to 49), you will probably get a 54 feet mooring (and get charged for it too).

What is your vessel's LOA?, can you brief me in your plans, so I can suggest alternatives?.

Dear Juan,
We have been sailing and it seems I never answered your kind email. Our LOA is 12.4 m. We are currently in Lagos, Portugal. Our plan is to be in Gibraltar about 20th September and then into the Med (probably with a stop in Smir, Morocco to reset our 18 month clock). We still have not loction planned for winter and are open to all ideas. We want to travel in Spain, so the better train/bus/airport connections would be great.

yes , there will be room! and there are many empty Marinas along this coast. try La duquesta for a good shot!
