Interesting. Sudden drop in water levels = run like hell to high ground. My parents house is in a Tsunami zone on an island about 14 miles up a coastal river (Oregon).

I’ve seen the inundation maps and am fairly certain no one still left on the island will survive the resulting tsunami from a local cascadia type earthquake.

Now given a couple hours warning I’d be inclined to head out to sea if I thought I could get to deep water in time. Then again maybe I’d just rather the insurance company bought me another boat...
