Yacht Salaries

Out of curiosity [generated from a different thread on ICC licenses] I was perusing the RYA training center in Fort Lauderdale for courses when I saw they also have job postings for yachts.

When you see a listing for a "Deck Engineer" for a 30 meter yacht (whatever) and the contract says "Seasonal" and lists the Salary at $4500... is this salary for the whole season, per month, or per week?

Re: Yacht Salaries

Its per Month, not only that but tips are pretty sizable. Think somebody was having a go, but feet kissing/worship, was available in Lauderdale.
Jokes aside, qualifications, can do, look good, professional, unbelievable hours, is the lot of Superyacht Crew, fortunately Engineers get a exemption for good looks, thats how I got in, but just one season.

Yeah... haha! I wasn't actually considering this as a career. I am eminently not qualified as deck candy.

I maybe was thinking of something after I quit my career that would allow me to dress up as a pirate and drive drunks out to a reef to snorkel for the day. Low pay, jerks, barf, and head clogs everyday but - hey... why not.
