Someone posted a link to a site that was being built a while back where you could add descriptions of ideal cruising grounds. I am sorry to say, I have forgotten who, or where the link is.
On critical factor is where you intend to cruise
. You wil find far more shallow anchorages in the Carrib than you will along the Pacific coast. In fact, I know of none in this area that would give you a problem with 6.5' or less of draft. There are a few harbors, and some areas in the Delta
that ae a bit shallow, but from Bodega bay to Morro Bay, all the anchorages are fairly deep.
