Tell Us About Shallow Anchorages You Know About

Hello all,
I am still in the process of choosing a boat and I am trying to evaluate the deepest draft that I'll be comforatable with. It's my understanding that the only disadvantage of a deep draft is that it is hard to get in and out of shallow anchorages so I was wondering which anchorages I would be sacrificing if I chose a deeper draft.
So if you know of any really awsome anchorages that require a shallow draft let us know.

thanks,

Someone posted a link to a site that was being built a while back where you could add descriptions of ideal cruising grounds. I am sorry to say, I have forgotten who, or where the link is.
On critical factor is where you intend to cruise. You wil find far more shallow anchorages in the Carrib than you will along the Pacific coast. In fact, I know of none in this area that would give you a problem with 6.5' or less of draft. There are a few harbors, and some areas in the Delta that ae a bit shallow, but from Bodega bay to Morro Bay, all the anchorages are fairly deep.

I agree with Kai Nui. Draft is really dependent on where you want to sail. We draw 8.5' but do not feel it is a problem. We sail the great lakes and plan on doing the east coast, Caribbean, and med. 8.5 is fine for all those but not so good for the IC
