we are at the junction of the erie and seneca canals and are wondering if lake seneca is worth the trip or just a tourist trap. We have heard watkins glen is nice but the entire canal is kind of nice. Anyone have any must sees? Is it worth putting up the mast and doing some sailing?
The Finger Lakes are pretty, but I'm not sure I'd divert down a canal (and then back up again) just to go visit any one of them. B&Bs, wineries...usually they are a place to set back and relax for a while, not a destination must-see, like the World's Biggest Ball of String. Unless you're into that kind of thing, and there's something on Seneca that feeds your need.<G>
