Holy Fogness !

Ok made it through the brunt of the fog, Houston TX past the delta. Does anyone know anything about the insane fog phenomenon that we just passed through on that coastal area. I kid you not when I say we had 72 straight hours of fog so thick we couldn't see the bow of our 30 foot cape dory in the middle of the oil rigs and crew boats, pretty eerie. I myself have never seen fog this heavy and thick. Lets just say good 'ol Jimmy Buffet, relaxation and rum drinks have been no where near us for 11 days. I was told it was in the middle of fog season but was told no more details. Anyone out there have any info on this.

Re: Holy Fogness!!!!

72 hrs, that's all.

Wait until it gets really foggy.

Alot of it has to do withe day/night temperature changes, plus the water temp differences between, for instance, Clear Lake, Galveston Bay, etc.

Re: Holy Fogness!!!!

The Houston ship channel, 3rd or 4th busiest port in the country closes down several days to weeks a year from fog.
