Question Florida to Galveston - Homeland Security

I'm a UK citizen and I'll be cruising from Ft L to Galveston in August. I'll enter Miami on a visa waiver then proceed direct to Galveston. I'm presuming I won't need to clear immigration and re-enter, am I right about this or should I apply for a ten-year visa?

I don't think you have to, you are going on a cruise ship or a charter? They can tell you for sure.

I'll be sailing my boat. I'll not be going anywhere but US port to US port, longest leg from either Key West or Marathon to Galveston, but I will be offshore.

Re: Florida to Galveston - Homeland Security

You should check with CBP to be sure, a phone call to them after arrival in Miami should be quick and easy.

AFAIK, as long as you don't check in to a foreign port between Miami & Galveston, you don't need to check in at Galveston.

BTW, how is the boat registered? If the boat is foreign flagged with a US cruising permit, you will need to let CBP know it's moved ports.

Re: Florida to Galveston - Homeland Security

Thanks DotDun

Boat is registered in Florida and I hold the title. I'll check anyway, but I think (and hope) you're right.
