Crossing the North Atlantic

I am planing on crossing the Atlantic from the Gulf of St. Lawrence to Gibraltar solo with my 43.6" Roberts ketch next May. Any one who has made this trip can help me with some information? Need to ask about charts, electronic devices etc. Thanks.

The Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS), Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), has just published a new edition of the nautical chart of the Gulf of St. Lawrence covering the area on the North Shore between Cap Whittle and Havre-Saint-Pierre, as well as Anticosti Island (1:300 000 scale).

The new edition of this chart (Number 4025), which has been converted to the metric system, supersedes the previous version published in 1991. It updates all of the requisite information, incorporating new data on depths obtained from a multibeam sonar survey conducted in Jacques Cartier Passage. Mariners can contact an authorized chart dealer now to obtain the latest version of the chart (Go to Redirect URL to see the list of chart dealers.) The new edition will be kept updated through the Notices to Mariners published by the Canadian Coast Guard Notices to Mariners / Avis aux navigateurs
