If you buy a mosquito net of double bed
size, with a little fiddling, it can be turned into a fold-up-able outside cockpit
enclosure. If you soak it in Permethrins solution first, it will even kill the bugs that land on it. When I made our first one, (and in successive ones), I used old rope
to hold it down to make a "seal" at the bottom. All our boats have had dodgers, so that was where the "draping" began.
So, even if there are bugs at Clear Lake (seems pretty likely to me!), there is a way to sit out in the dusk and not be eaten alive.
