Advice for cruising Atlantic Nova Scotia

We are planning to cruise the Atlantic side of Nova Scotia for 3 - 5 weeks. Not sure if we will have enough time to get to Bra's d'or Lakes, but would like to. Our boat is not very fast and we would like to actually explore the places where we stop. Also factoring in, it will take us longer to get back home to Cape Cod with prevailing head winds. Have done a lot of research up to Halifax. Between Halifax & the Lakes can anyone recommend nice places to stop. How much time is really needed to do the Lakes and do you recommend it. Any other great must sees are appreciated.

Re: Advice for cruising Atlantic Nova Scotia

Check out Rouges Roost. A nice place to stop, there is a good mooring there. it's just before Sambro. Check it out on the charts and google it. Halifax is an obvious stop. Oh Sheet harbor is also a great stopping place with a free wharf and all amenities within walking distance.
If you have any specific questions let me know.
