Post-IRMA Report, Bradenton, Fl

We have just returned from checking on our boat at our Club on the north shore of the Manatee River and found all was well save for a rack of kayaks that some lamo's couldn't be bothered with picking up (now they can pick up the pieces!). On the way back we passed the Regatta Point Marina and Twin Dolphins Marina and saw no boats sunk. The only damages at either marina seemed to be headsails on several boats at each who's owners did not have the sense to remove before the storm, all shredded.

FWIW...

HYLyte,
Were you at Snead Island? Glad to hear you had no damage. Rognvald

Saw a couple of boats aground in Sarasota bay while crossing the Ringling bridge this afternoon but over all far less than I expected.
At least half a dozen dry stored boats on their sides at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron though.

I have not been there myself but I understand that the yachts at Snead Island Boat Works did fine. Both floating and those on the hard.

Our boat is in Sarasota. Except for the 'gold necklass' navy idiots who didn't have a clue how to prep, no damage.

Unfortunately, our insurance premiums will likely increase because some lack the common sense to take reasonable care avoiding unnecessary claims.

Another example of the 'more money than brains' club stupidity.
