I switched a couple years ago from a 35lb Danforth (1976 Islander 32 @ 5 tons) that was getting consistently weed fouled at one of my favorite spots, to an old 45lb CQR
copy, that has been working well. Although when I shifted up on it recently as the anchorage got crowded, I cheated its scope
a bit too much and drug it two days later when the wind
came up. Got a call while I was ashore from the harbor patrol that I was 4 feet from a reef, yikes. That had me really wishing I had one of these:
