Re: Want to buy Lagoon 40

Thank you so much but we have been looking for a cat for a long time and Lagoon is the only cat we really like to liveaboard.

Chakil,l I like the way how you approach your plans! Acctually we are following a very close path.

However, it will be very hard to come close to the 300K € you mentioned. I just summed up the absolute minimum options from the Lagoon pricelist that you would need to get the boat on water ready to sail.
Without VAT i come to approx. 325.000€. If you are able to negotiate a 10% discount (which i dont know is possible at the moment), you would have to pay 292.500€.

To make that boat really liveaboard ready, i guess you have to add:

Watermaker, Generator, Solar, Li Batteries, and a few more things. If you go low low on a budget, i would estimate to add another 15.000-20.000€, if you are able to perform the work on the boat by yourself... Getting the total for the boat to an 310k ish.

Did you check the latest adds on YW? There are quite a few Lagoon 400s and some 39´s offered from 210K to 260K.

Good luck on your plans and keep us informed how things are going!

The new 40 is nice but smaller compared to previous models. I think we may go with the 400S. There was a Lagoon 400 owner's version 2013 at Croatia sold for 220k€ ex Vat but anyway I may only pay %1 VAT if I register my boat in Turkey or put US flag and pay no VAT. It has no AC, no generator.
And I just checked another 2014 380 with AC and generator for 175K€ but my wife did not like the 380 much.
I think the range for a 2010-2014 Lagoon 400 is around 210k€ -250k€ ,more than that its over priced.

Re: Want to buy Lagoon 40

Last month we visited again the BOOT in Dusseldorf. On display was the Lagoon 40. The 40 is just 23cm (9inches) shorter than the 400. However, it does feel inside much more spacious than the 400...

I agree with your wife when it comes to the 380.
