A veteran of both oceans, our 1985 Tayana 55 is currently berthed in San Diego, California.LONG TALL SALLY has sailed to the Med with her previous owners and, for the succeeding twenty years has explored the West Coast, Mexico, the South Pacific and Asia with my husband and I (her current owners ) aboard.
During her last three years on the water, spent in Thailand, she has received several major upgrades, including the installation of new teak decks, new hull LP,
New covers, new interior upholstery, and a new bulletproof refridgeration system (both freezer and fridge). A significant amount of her interior wood work has been restored and varnished as well.
Unlike many of her peers,she boasts two full size staterooms with ample underbed and closet storage as well as ensuite heads and showers. Her galley is large and easy to use, with a three burner range , the oven thet can accomodate a large turkey! she has new LED lighting in the galley, main saloon, and forward stateroom as well as an ICOM SSB/ham radio, and a recently purchased 26 mi Furuno radar.
Having never been in charter,she is easily handled by two persons and we have found her to be a safe, sturdy, and well loved vessel. Regretfully, due to health reasons we must find her a home with new owners who we hope will appreciate her as we have done.
