Nesting Dinghy

About 4 years ago I built a nesting dinghy with plans of cruising. Family obligations changed and now I do deliveries.

So the 8í nesting boat I made is for sale. It is complete, but never used. Just need to mount the oarlocks where you like them, and started pulling on the carbon fiber oars that are part of the package.

Here are photos of the boat in storage and one while she was being built. Includes 2 carbon fiber oars.

Paddle away price if $700. She is currently in St Petersburg, FL.

Please PM if interested

Re: Nesting Dinghy

Please note this boat was built off the Spindrift plans.

Last call asking $400. There is about $600 in West Systems, glass matting and luan plywood in this boat. Just foolish to take a saw to it.

Re: Nesting Dinghy

It's a steal at $700, and a crime at $400...

I can't believe it hasn't sold. For someone looking for a reliable, tough dinghy that can last a lifetime, this is it. If I were nearby, I'd jump on it.

Snore, why don't you post it as well on the "Free or close to free" thread.

It seems things run in cycles, I canít explain why, but for instance there was a Honda generator for sale at a price that I thought it would sell for in minutes, but it didnít.
I have no idea why.

Then a week from now things may bring prices you can buy them new for, again, why?

I do know that if you know what you want and keep your eyes open, you can get some real bargains here.

Re: Nesting Dinghy

I built a B&B Spindrift 9n to perfection with all the best materials 10 years ago ($1,050 in receipts) and sold it for $300. Unfortunately, there is a small market for hard dinghies, and even smaller for home built ones.

Flat blade. It is in background. They are a tad long as that is how I like them. Not sure of size. If serious PM me and I will give phone number.

Re: Nesting Dinghy

Something that might help:

Can you give measurements, so that people could see if it would fit?

And, how were you going to solve the seating problem?

Thanks. It is a spindrift. I should take a picture of it together with the center sets that spans the joint.
