Getting a
live aboard slip in the city of
Vancouver and a
boat for no more than $10,000.00 might be a bit of dream.
There are only two live aboard
marinas in the Vancouver area, Heather Civic and Spruce Harbour (a co-op). Both are great places to get in but both have long waiting lists, (aprox eight years). To
purchase the shares in Spruce you are looking at about $50,000.00 which you will get back when you leave the marina.
One way to bypass the wait list in Spruce Harbour is to
purchase a
boat with shares. But non of the boats in Spruce will sell for anything less than $100,000 and many of them are worth much more.
Vancouver is a very expensive city to live in, but living at one of the two live a board
marinas is by far the most inexpensive ways and is a great life style.
