Dyer Dhow 8' Dinghy with Oars and Sailing Rig
$250, located in Hernando Beach, FL, one hour north of Tampa
Nice dinghy, complete with all spars, fittings, and parts. Some dings and scrapes, but hull is in very nice shape. Sail rig is in great condition. Sail is in fair useable condition, faded with one small patch, good seams and attachment points. A terrific dinghy for small sailboats, weighing only about 80 pounds. I upgraded to a Portland Pudgy, and am ready to pass this dinghy on to a new owner for her next adventure.

Re: Dyer Dhow 8' Dinghy with Oars and Sailing Rig
I am very interested. How stable is this dinghy, I have never sailed or rowed one. Also, I will b using as a tender so I will need to register, do you have a FL title?
Thanks
Paul

In fact, I will commit to purchase as long as the pictures are recent and you can guarentee that I will be able to register.
Thanks
Paul

Re: Dyer Dhow 8' Dinghy with Oars and Sailing Rig
Thanks for your interest. The pictures were taken yesterday. Stability is the same as any hard-shell dinghy...if you push a gunnel below the waterline, you get water in the boat, so stay low and centered. I never used it with a motor, so there is no registration. Sold with Bill of Sale only. You would have to register it as home-made to get a registration on it.

Re: Dyer Dhow 8' Dinghy with Oars and Sailing Rig
Thanks,
Are there factory numbers ( vin ) molded into the hull, or a MFG plate wth serial number?
Paul

The only numbers are faintly stamped into the wooden transom. They are visible in one of the photos.

Had one for years, we'd like to buy if you don't sell to previous responder.
Thanks

Re: Dyer Dhow 8' Dinghy with Oars and Sailing Rig
That's a helluva price for one of those with the whole kit.
We had one when I was a kid, as the dinghy for our boat. I loved that thing, sailing around new harbors and locations. Great memories, and great training for kids learning to sail.
Some advice if you have kids who are going to set out in it...make sure they stay upwind of the boat. That way if the wind or current pipes up it's easier for them to get back. Ask me how I know...

Seriously on that price. If I was in Florida, I would have been there yesterday.

Double the price would still be a good deal if all is well.

Folks, I'm overwhelmed with the response; Cruiser's Forum is the Best! I'm awaiting payment from an interested buyer, and will immediately update the post if it sells. If not, I'll keep working my way down the list. Thank you all for your interest and patience.
