40'-42' blue water cruiser on a budget

We just downsized by selling our racing/cruiser to a lovely family and are ready for the next boat to call home. And when we say "home" we mean, "Home is where the anchor drops!" and currently that has been Hawaii for 3 years. Thrilling as this is, we need to find a new boat fairly soon and would consider nearly anywhere in the planet, except Europe.

Prior to putting our boat up for sale last year, it seemed we found many interesting choices in our purchase range as we poked around casually looking (up to $50K). Oddly, we find surprisingly slim pickins' now , and soon we will be couch surfing with a bucket of $$.

We'd like to find a 40-42' blue water cruiser center cockpit with medium to heavy displacement, full keel is ideal. We prefer a cutter rigged ketch or cutter. Fuel tank/water tank size is important and must be clean/stainless or at least newer. Must have a number of recent upgrades and fairly well outfitted for cruising long term, such as solar and/or wind, auto pilot (windvane and/or auto), decent sails, roller furler jib, an engine that runs well, refrigeration is nice, and must have 6'4" headroom minimum. We live simply and don't need all the bells and whistles, just a solid boat that's been cared for.

Our favorite designs are mid/late 70's, early 80's Morgan Out Island 41 or Westsail. Of course open to others as well. Thank you for reading and we appreciate any tips on boats for sale out there that might fit the bill!
