35' Bristol sloop $1000

Yes, you read it right. $1000.
I have my 1971 Bristol sloop, on the hard in my back yard, and she has to go.
Brief discription:
Good sails (New main sail) roller furling, wheel steering, elec. windlass, multi anchor bow roller, anchors and rode, Auto pilot, Propane stove (3 burner, oven, broiler) H&C pressure water, Perkins 4-107 diesel.

Boat needs complete painting, upholstery, and other tlc.

This is a big opportunity or someone who wants to go cruising on the cheap.

Wow.....

Good thing we're not in the market. We love Bristols and are suckers for a project.

Good luck finding a good home for her. I hope there is someone that will take her on and give her a second wind.

Re: 35' Bristol sloop $1000

I hope to find someone on the forum. I forgot to mention, it's an easy boat to sail solo.

If I was 20 years younger and wanted to go cruising, I would be all over this one.

She is 1/2 mile from local marina. Moving from my yard to marina runs about $400.

Here's a deal for someone. I'm getting ready to list my acre of property, with 2 houses, for sale.

Thinking, I would be happy selling, without a broker, for $200000.
So you buy the places. Live in the smaller one. Rent the larger one for $1200/mo.
Finish the boat, and rent the smaller house for $750/mo, and GO CRUISING!

I forgot to mention the boat is in Englewood, FL

Please post pictures- I am VERY interested. Is there a trailer or could it be sailed as is? I'm in the Mobile AL area looking for a good boat to work on and then cruise on.

Hi, I am in Toronto Canada. I am a US citizen. If I buy it can I live on it for a month at you location while doing initial evaluation of needed upgrades, and work before moving to dry dock for completion?
cheers

I would need for you to have insurance to live on or work on the boat at it's location. There are a couple of DIY yards, very close to the boat, that are reasonable. Marine supply stores as well.

Re: 35' Bristol sloop $1000

I might be interested in the whole package...land, buildings and boat. I don't want to step on toes...How does one contact another on this forum? Do you give email addresses? Telephone numbers? ....or what?
