2007 Beneteau Cyclades 39

A rare boat in the United States, this Beneteau Cyclades 39 is one of only three known to be in the US, and the only one on the Pacific coast! Located in San Diego, California.

Length: 39' 3" Beam: 13' Draft: 5' 11"

We were equipping and preparing the boat for a passage to Hawaii. During the past ten months, much new equipment has been added. Unfortunately, a change in plans now necessitates the sale.
On deck, the large cockpit has dual helm positons with full new Raymarine ST60 Plus instrumentation at each, and Harken genoa sheet winches placed close at hand. The dual helms provide great access to the swim step and hidden 8 person canister life raft (current certification). The aft end of the cockpit table holds the new Raymarine C80 chartplotter. New OEM (for Beneteau France) mainsail with a new Harken Battcar system on the mast, plus new OEM genoa, new dodger, new bimini, new stack pack mainsail cover, new upgraded Z Spars solid vang, and all new running rigging. Forward is a new Quick 1000 watt windlass. The 35 lb. Delta anchor is attached to 250’ of new grade 40 high test chain spliced to 200’ of nylon rode.

The interior layout features three cabins cooled by two Cruisair air conditioning units, and two heads (two new Jabsco heads) with showers. A U-shaped settee is to starboard and a practical galley to port with double sinks, a new Eno/Force 10 stove & oven, and refrigerator/freezer. Fifteen opening hatches and ports provide excellent ventilation. All cabin lights and nav lights are LED.

Power is provided by a 40 HP Yanmar diesel with new heat exchanger, new Flex-O-Fold 3 blade folding propeller, new shaft seal and new cutlass bearing. Autopilot is a stock hydraulic linear drive Lecomble & Schmit with a Raymarine power pack and two Raymarine autopilot controllers, one at each helm. Steering control has been improved by the new deeper performance rudder and new rudder bearings. New bottom paint (Trinidad SR) in March 2014.

Price: $89,000

what an interesting bimini design! what's supporting it in the aft section? i only see two vertical pieces in the front. how strong is it? (i'm thinking of smth similar, but not sure of the implementation). thank you!

Re: 2007 Beneteau Cyclades 39

antoha,

The "fixed" bimini was a Beneteau option for the Cyclades series (39, 43, & 50). Forward is a vertical inverted U shaped support with horizontal tubing running aft clamped to it, with several lateral horizontal tubes attached to the longitudinals. Aft, the frame is supported by a lateral crosstube attached to the backstays by two unique clamps. There is some fore-aft movement with this setup. Some of the earlier boats had a raised frame as part of the dodger to act as the forward support that made for a stiffer bimini.

I'll try to get some photos of the frames and clamps over the weekend.

We sailed a 2007 Beneteau Cyclades 39 for a year in the Caribbean. Two of us and our dog. All we did was add a long-range wifi system and a wind generator. This boat was perfect for us! Can't beat the Beneteau design! Perfect cruisers' combination of comfort, safety and speed.

GOsail, thank you! I suspected that. Smart design. How does it do in strong winds? Also, is your backstay adjustable at all? Ours is (also split, but there's a block and line arrangement that controls where the split ends meet), so I wonder how sensitive the Bimini is to that. Thanks again! (And we can't quite mount the struts as far forward, our mainsheet attaches at the end of the boom.)

Re: 2007 Beneteau Cyclades 39

antoha,

There are hundreds of the Cyclades series in the Caribbean and Med. Most have this style of fixed bimini, and I have not heard of any wind related failures.

These boats do not have adjustable backstays, nor are they split; there are two separate backstays. Because of your adjustable backstay, unfortunately this setup would probably not work on your boat.
