St. James City canals

We are cruising in a 43 ft sailboat with 5'8" draft. Friends are looking to go up the canal in st. James city to a marina and restaurants for a couple of days. Any local knowledge of water depth and docks in that area?Recommendations? either waterside or woody's In think. Thanks
