Provisioning in Fiji and Entry costs

we are getting ready to head to fiji from american samoa in April and were looking for someone who is there already or has been there to chat with. we have lots of questions about what the prices of food are and what we should stock up on before we leave american samoa. How many boats are around the anchorages? is there work available? etc..

Get some rum on the way through in Vava'u. Bring a 4 to 5 person bambooski also.

Huh? When we were in Tonga, folks from there were sailing all the way to American Samoa to buy booze, not the other way around! AFAIK, A.S. has the best booze prices in the Pacific.

And if you look at the date on the OP, it's likely that they are long since arrived in Fiji.

And finally, what the hell is a "bambooski"?

Jim

Excuse my naïveté re. rum.

Bambooski. noun. Aparatus designed for ingesting too much rum in too short a time. See shotski.

Shotski. noun. Alpine origin of tropical Bambooski. Ski with 4 to 7 shot glasses glued to upper surface designed for ingesting too much schnapps in too short a time.
