Re: Pirates

A serious question was asked and all that I have seen is jokes.

Seriously though, what kind of anchor will you have?

Biz Life,
just out of curiosity is the area you live crime free?

If you manage to get "protection" past DHS you should be aware that as a non-citizen of any other country you visit, you will not be allowed to have a firearm. If you ignore all this official nonsense and need to use a firearm for protection, the main thing that will upset everyone is that a non-citizen(you) did harm to a citizen.

You can have guns in the Bahamas.

I didn't know that.thanks for sharing.

Can an illegal alien go to a gun show in the US and purchases as many AR15's as he wants?

Re: Pirates

By boat perhaps. But have you ever flown in with a gun to the Bahamas? I don't think they will like it too much. And you can't have hand guns and I might be mistaken but I don't think you can have rifles either.

As well they need to be locked up securely on the boat. Will a chartered boat have a reasonable place to lock them up? And how about getting them to the boat. Will they allow that?

Just seems like a lot of hassle for little reason IMHO.

As long as he has an illegal driver's license.

Re: Pirates

Wow what a helpful group! I wrote a column in a magazine for twenty years and never got that much response that fast. Back to the issue from folks who have sailed in the Abaco's, are there safety precautions and quotes I can use with my timid crew lady. As to the serious question about what anchor we will have. That is an issue I don't understand. all my previous experience is on lakes racing Flying Scots and bare boating on Grand Traverse Bay, no anchoring. Are the shallow waters a danger in the Abaco's. Was planning to have charter co advise here. Maybe I need protection from you guys.

Re: Pirates

Not sure why so many smart alec remarks either. This forum is usually pretty informative. You don't need a gun...purchase pepper spray if you must have something. No more crime there than US.

Re: Pirates

Actually a lot less crime. The way a local said it to me is, it's a small island. If you steal something someone will find out pretty fast.

And Bahama mama's whoop their children good, and so will the papa, the uncle, the priest and a bunch more according to him.

PS I would check on pepper spray as well. Don't think it's legal there.

Re: Pirates

Google is your friend!

Pepper spray is not allowed to travel to the Bahamas by air at least.
