Darwin to Perth September

We've just had a great time sailing for 6 weeks from Townsville to Darwin and got some excellent advice on this forum.
The next leg is Darwin to Perth leaving in September.
Keen to hear any advice on sailing south at that time of year and any suggested itinerary for a 6 week sail.
Weve done the trip many years ago before kids and sailing in the opposite direction so would be keen to hear from anyone who has sailed south from Darwin to Perth.
Any input greatly appreciated.
