Cruising Bahamas advice, tips, suggestions

So the boat search starts and our plan is to leave Key West in April and cruise the Bahamas for several months. if we can hear from anyone with Bahamas experience that would be great. Looking for route suggestions, specific chart books, guides things we must do, things not to do. Any information would greatly appreciated.

Steve Dodges Guide to the Abacos, Steve Pavilidis' various Guides to the rest of the Bahamas, again depending on where you want to go.
