Bimini w 7' draft

Anyone want to recommend the optimum marina on Bimini for
a vessel drawing 7 feet? Is there anywhere in Biscayne or Key Largo
where one can go comfortably with this kind of draft?
Thanks,
H V

You can go into No Name Harbor at Key Biscayne. We draw 6'6" and our friends draw 7' and have no trouble getting in. Is Bimini your destination or is it just a stop after the crossing? If its just a stop, you could consider going above Bimini into NW Providence Channel and then clear in at the marina in Highbourne.

Thanks Paul, your suggestions are well taken. Bimini for now is just a destination for
weekend sailing from Fll. New to the area, all local knowledge is appreciated. We
are seeking a pleasant harbor on Bimini where we don't have to be too apprehensive about draft entering or exiting.
Again, thanks

I'd give the marinas a call and ask about the entrance channel and pricing. They'll fill you info.

Just to be correct, not Highbourne, it is Great Harbour Cay Marina in the Berrys. Also, FYI, it is US$300 to check into the Bahamas for most boats.

Re: Bimini w 7' draft

couldn't help but notice the check in fee when we started looking into the place
Thanks for the reminder, the fee is a bit stiff. However, Cat Cay seems a relatively
easy check in spot considering our draft. In spite of the negatives, the idea of
going out a bit and riding the stream toward Alice Town is appealing.
Thanks for the comments,
HV
