Best Budget Stops

This is kind of an offshoot of the shoestring and best provisioning stops. what are the best budget stops you have come across in your travels?

I'll start with my current stop - a mooring ball at W 79th St Basin, NYC, NY, USA. Staying in one of the most expensive, amazing cities in the world for $180/week.

Re: Best Budget Stops

I second your report on 79th St Boat Basin. 'Tis best in the world of its type.

St Martin in the Caribbea. Free to stay and duty free to buy anything. and every marine product is available a short dinghy ride away.

But if you have money to splurge you can do too.

Mainland Mexico, on the Pacific side (I have no first hand knowledge of the Gulf of Mexico). Very inexpensive, people are great, only drag is the summers with heat and hurricanes.
