Bareboat Port of Santorini or Kos in September

Hey all.

I will be on Santorini on September 7 and want to charter a bareboat for 7 days.

The question is: to base from Thira or Kos? Kos would require a quick flight, but I am getting a notion that in the Dodecanese may be better in regard to the Meltemi at that time than the Cyclades.
Santorini would be easier for me but in addition to more Meltemi, it seems that the Dodecanese may be a better place to cruise for a week.

Thoughts?
