Weather information Sea of Cortez

What weather sources are most reliable in the Sea of Cortez? Specifically from La Paz up the cost to Santa Rosalia and then over to San Carlos? Cell coverage will be spotty to non-existent in places so wondering what sources for weather cruisers generally use in those areas? Thanks everyone.

What tech do you have? SSB weather net is available. WIfi Windy.com is used by many. VHF Club cruceros every morning does a net call on chanel 22

Predict Wind standard, PWE, works reasonably well if you have a satellite device (we use an IridiumGo). Best to couple that with Sonrisanet.org HF net every morning (check for time when you are there or on the website). Geary, the weather guy, does an amazing job. We just spent 4 weeks in the Sea and most days we we were well prepared for weather. Its a great place, have fun.

Here is Geary's website. For those of us that have been in and around the Sea of Cortez for years, he is the go to guy.

Sea of Cortez / Baja Weather

He provides a really valuable service. Great guy!

Good to have the information. But the Gulf is a great place and if all else fails just follow the fleet out of La Paz LOL.
