Re: Hurricane Danny - NE Caribbean

Neil, thanks, looks like it's still hitting 50mph, so we should be ok ! It will be interesting to see if it continues to maintain its structure with the warm sand filled air around it, let's hope it continues westerly for you, but I think we are in the firing line !
I must admit most of the vessels here are well prepared, we have had a lot of vessels come in from the other mooring /docks around Antigua in the last day, a lot of the cats have been lift on the north side of the island as the jolly dock can not get them off the water. I will try and report in as soon as able once it has blown through.
All the best, and greetings from Antigua

Re: Hurricane Danny - NE Caribbean

Looks better at every frame update, the blog is bit bigger since early this morning but nothing to worry for us , shear is in the 30 range for a couple of days and SAL still present, we have a TS warning this morning , now is discontinued, probably the track shifted a bit south, anyway i can expect some gusty wind and rain hopefully, everything is really dry here, wacht out what is coming from Africa , looks like the train pull the pedal to the metal, hopefully we have this nice wind shear for the rest of the season..... Cheers.

Yep If Erica does develop and gets named, it is on the watch list, if we get a bad year, I hope they don't blame it on me and deport me back to the wet and cold of the uk !
Antigua is gasping for some rain, let's hope we get enough to fill the surface reservoirs, we are predicted between 2" and 4"

Ah, but you live to fight another day! Whats the consensus about soon to be Erika? At least the chances look like that could happen soon. Do you expect Erika will likely suffer the same fate as Danny? I kind of read it that way right now.

Glad you guys are safe for now. Good luck with the remainder of the season.

Ralph

Like in waves it is a set of three. John, Jim and Tim John one sets you up
Jim broaches you and Tim drowns you. Bottom line there's two more coming. Head South while you can

Re: Hurricane Danny - NE Caribbean

Erica is in the track, this one is something to wacht carefully, the GRIB files dont show any bad at all ,NOAA have this Low at 80% , hope she get the same fate as Dany, shear is in the 15 to 20 range, SAL is still present , she is travelling really fast , 20 mph and this is good for us since fast LOws dont have the chance of slow development, and is moving west, Wednesday is the day guys!!! after Erica we have a break, yeahh!

Re: Hurricane Danny - NE Caribbean

Rib, thanks
They think it might go to a Tropical depression in the next 24 hrs, it has the makings of a hurricane from what they are seeing at the moment, whether it does the same as Danny is yet to be seen, I will be watching it closely !
Sailon ...... I so hope you are wrong.... Don't fancy a row of them ! I will be a nervous wreck by the end of the month !

Neilpride
Yep as you say 20mph, I presume she will slow if she does develop, 1000 miles away so a bit later than Wednesday do you think?
