Yes, a license is on my list. With an EE degree I should be able to pass with just a little studying.

I used this site (and the ARRL book) to review for my Extra Class license:
AA9PW FCC Exam Practice » Amateur Radio Exam Practice

To be able to use HF SSB, go for at least the General Class license.
